How it works

Five simple, secure steps to getting started

Some of these checks are required by law for every tax agent. They protect you as much as they protect me.

1
Free chat
We talk about your work and whether Making Tax Digital applies to you. No obligation.
2
Confirm who you are
A quick, secure ID check using your passport or driving licence and proof of address.
3
Sign your agreement
A plain-English letter setting out exactly what I do, what you do, and what it costs.
4
Authorise me with HMRC
You approve me as your agent through your own HMRC sign-in. I'll send you the link.
5
I take it from here
Set-up in MTD software, then quarterly updates — each one sent only after you approve it.
I will never ask for your HMRC password or Government Gateway login. If anyone does — including someone claiming to be me — please don't share it.

Simple fixed fees

Two ways to work with me: do it yourself and I'll check it before you submit, or hand it all over to me. Either option starts with onboarding — it's how I confirm who you are, which the law requires of every tax agent.

Gabriela Silion
About me

Hello, I'm Gabriela Silion — most people call me Gabi

I work predominantly with women — that's a deliberate choice for my business.

When I moved to the UK 25 years ago, I had no idea how taxes worked here: what to pay, how to pay it, or what the penalties were if you got it wrong. That led me to qualify as a financial adviser in the UK, and then into compliance and risk, where I've worked for the past 15 years, including as a Data Protection Officer and an anti-money laundering professional. My consultancy work also took me to projects outside the UK.

Over the past 10 years I've helped friends who moved here from Romania find their way around the UK financial system as self-employed, so I know how scary and confusing tax returns, rules and changes can feel. Romanian is my mother tongue, so if you prefer, I'll explain every term in Romanian.

On a personal note, I've written and self-published a couple of books based on my own experiences of abusive relationships, and I've set up a couple of businesses following my passions. I'm an avid collector of old things and I sometimes sell online on Vinted and eBay, so I know e-commerce from the inside.

I have great respect for every woman earning a living online, adult content creators included, who is in charge of her life and her earnings. If you think we could work together, give me a shout.

I share regular updates on my social media, where you can also get to know me and what I love outside work — you'll find the links at the bottom of this page.

FAQs

Questions people often ask

Does Making Tax Digital apply to me?
It depends on your qualifying income: your gross self-employment income plus any property income, before expenses. It applies over £50,000 from April 2026, over £30,000 from April 2027 and over £20,000 from April 2028. Wages from a job don't count.
I already have an accountant. Why switch?
If you're happy, stay! If your fees have gone up because of MTD, you can't get hold of them, or you'd like someone who explains things in Romanian, let's talk. Switching is simple and I handle the handover.
Can't I just do it myself with an app?
You can. Many people start that way. Clients come to me when they'd rather not worry about five deadlines a year, penalty points and HMRC letters.
Do you work with adult content creators?
Yes, happily. It's legitimate self-employed work, and I treat it like any other trade: confidentially and without judgement. I know the costs that come with it, and I'll help you claim what you're entitled to. Your stage name and platforms stay between us — HMRC only sees your legal name and your figures.
Why do you need to see my ID?
Every tax agent has to confirm who their clients are under UK anti-money laundering rules. Your documents are stored securely and only used for this purpose.
Do I need to buy software?
Making Tax Digital needs HMRC-recognised software. I'll set you up with a simple option and show you how to add receipts from your phone.
I've missed a deadline. Can you still help?
Yes. The sooner we talk, the easier it is to put right — and there's no judgement.
Can we speak in Romanian?
Da, desigur. Calls and messages can be in English or Romanian — whichever you're most comfortable with.
